For equipment specifying ISO VG 46, it provides the viscosity level the hydraulic system has been designed around. Before moving to ISO 68 because a machine operates in high ambient temperatures, check whether the manufacturer actually permits the change.

HYDROX (HLP) ISO 68

HYDROX (HLP) ISO 68 is the higher-viscosity option within the HYDROX range.

It can be considered for hydraulic systems where ISO VG 68 is specified, including certain equipment operating under demanding loads or elevated operating temperatures. But ISO 68 shouldn’t become the default choice for every machine working in a hot country.

The machine’s requirements still come first.
